When John’s two disciples heard this, they followed Jesus. Jesus looked around and saw them following. “What do you want?” he asked them. They replied, “Rabbi” (which means “Teacher”), “where are you staying?” “Come and see,” he said.
As you read through the first chapter in John you see the disciples drop what they are doing and begin following Jesus the moment He asked. Many times we accept Him into our lives and ask the lord to follow us. There’s nothing wrong with asking Jesus to be with you during hard times but what would your life look like if you dropped everything and followed Him. The truth is we all having something in our lives we are afraid to let go of for whatever reason. Deep down we know that what God has planned for us is better than our current situation but fear and worry sets in and we hold on to what’s comfortable. Ask yourself these questions today.
Are you following Jesus or are you asking him to follow you?
Who in your life do you know has a life truly submitted to the Father? What does their life look like?
What’s one step you can take today to begin your journey? Do you need to accept Jesus as your savior? Do you need to obey the nudging feeling in your gut to lay something down?
